I purchased a TPA3116 chip amp power supply to power some in ceiling speakers for my bedroom. I saw in some post were people were saying just use a laptop or computer power supply to power the unit. I picked up a 19v DC laptop power supply but every time I plug the amp into the power supply and turn it on the power supply trips for some reason and turns off. It does not damage the power supply because I can unplug it and plug it back in and it shutdown again if plugged into the amp. Could this be a over voltage/current protect in the power supply? If so how do I get this to work wit the amp?

thanks.

MyAli Express t3116 Chip amp Blue black PCB made by YJ Does work :-) But it makes horrible Scroootch sounds at turn on.
Regardless of the voltage of Brick I use from 12v to 24v.
The music sounds it produces is tinny and Harsh .. unpleasant and poor for listening.
IMO mine is faulty Junk.
Possibly yours is as well... Something to consider
