I re-installed "Mirage" back into my system for a couple of days of very enjoyable music with no problems at all. I also added my hybrid preamp and once more enjoyed another day or so of music. I have replaced Mirage with my 6V6 amp, "Black Lace", and to me a much better amp and much better music doth floweth!

Initially I had not been impressed with this amp. But lately I have really started to enjoy it. It is back in my main system with Parley, my tube and Pass B1 preamp. But Parley went to a new home yesterday to control some Pass F5 monoblocks never to return.

I am currently using my Pass BoZ to control Mirage the Class D amp. I'm now quite surprised just how good a $30 Class D Sure module can sound. I have Mirage up for sale buT will be quite happy now if it doesn't sell. The amp also impressed a friend who builds and repairs speakers for a living. He likes his chip amps but thought this rivalled them in some areas.

Hi Mark, good to hear you are enjoying the inexpensive amp module. On the bottom end, sometimes I find that I like the sound from a class D amp better than from a chip amp. In the hot summer months (just two of them here) I often do switch over to a class D or T-Amp rather than pit a class A amp against the air conditioner.

Cheers

I have just purchased the 2 X 500W Sure module. I found the 100W module gets a little edgy when pushed. I figure this new module will deliver about 100W into 8 ohms with less than %1 distortion. Let you know when competed.

I had the 500W Class D amp at a friends who has these crazy and super expensive speakers http://www.brodmann.at/vc7.html . The 500W amp was sold but I suggest I come back with the 100W Sure Class D. I'll bet you are thinking the 500W should cream it. Both amps have Sure amp modules.

The 100W, Mirage, was actually better sounding than the 500W (ROBUSTO). It had an inner warmth but still with good detail. The amp played real LOUD and bass was off the planet. The speakers have 8 X 5" drivers on the side but with a classic organ track I played the bass went low and full bodied. Dynamics was huge but female voice was honk, double but, male voice was great. I just wanted to keep playing music all afternoon. Really strange sounding speakers but the Mirage\Brodmann combo was total magic.

This amp just sold to the friend with the $30K Brodmanns. He took a DC blocker also.

I'm now down to one Class D the IR 250W unit. I've been plays it hard since built. Real nice but the 100W Sure amp may have the sweetest sound with good power. Cheapest amp module also. I have started the 180W Tripath based amp with the Mundovrf audio caps etc. Oh well get out the drill press again.
