I am having a slight ( ) hangover so I totally missed I had commented on your build already. Had dinner guests yesterday and they can drink a lot, but I am happy with a glass of good beer and a not-so-big shot of vodka.

I have found a lovely Russian vodka - Karavan. Frosted bottle with a clear panel at the front to show off the rear transfer. For us cheap AU$37. The best vodka I have ever tasted better than Grey Goose.

No vodka for me today. Guess I should try to get something done, but I am in no mode for that.

A question on the 6N3/7294 amp. I would assume that the 6N3 is the component that has greatest influence of the sound quality; could it possibly be replaced by a 6922?

No idea. You are better to answer that one.

I learned a long time ago; always go with the experts.

Burbon: American (Kentucky/Tennessee)
Whiskey: Ireland
Scotch: Scotch/Irish
Vodka: Russian
Tequila: Sammy Hagar :D

I know Sammy is a great guitarist, didn't know he was a Tequila expert. Maybe if I switched to Tequila my playing will improve.

Hello gentlemen, reviving and old thread here.
Been doing the same build, but having trouble with Amp. The red diode keeps flashing, and No Sound from speakers. Think IT is a Power issue .
What Power does the Amp require? I have a 12VAc for the board , it puts out 12.3. and a torodial tranny allso, 2 × 24Vac - 4.16A, using 1 line for the board and the other for a fan. The blue light under the tube lights Up, and the tube allso glows. Is there Amy way to troubleshoot?

Kind regards
Christian

It's been so long I have forgotten. You need two trannies. One for the tube filaments ~ 12V or 6V and one for the chips. Sorry can't remember and the amp is hard to get out. I'll see what i can find out.
