Sorry about this but i have more stupid guestions. If i build one of these from an ina217, where exactly do i connect the signal - of the output terminal. Also most of the components seem unnecessary, is this true?

Do you have an ina217 handy? A $7 instrumentation opamp for a mic pre just seems overkill...

Read the notes on the schematic. They say why the diodes are there.

If you don't need phantom power, just eliminate that section (R1, R2, R3, the switch w/47uF on it, C1, C2).
