I can scan and send you an article in Swedish about the project (the original classA 8W), else you can dive out and hope the parachute will work ...

I build the original Eightwatter on small experimentboards and when wnting to make things work, I forst bought real PCBs and of course changed my mind and bought the KIT. However the newer Monster is rated 15W requiring heavier transformer and PSU than the original so I am, as we Swedes say, "stuck with my beard in the mailbox".

I can point you in the direction I went:
The Hiraga 15W Monster
The Hiraga Super 30W

I still have to find out if I can run the amp on my 2x12W tranny, or if I have to buy a bigger 'un. And I guess I have to add a huge amount of Farads and all rated at at least 35V. :2c:

Quick question on power supply - I have a couple of SMPS's wondering if they would work. What voltage range would the Super Class A amp tolerate ex. 35VDC +/- 5V? How many amps as well. Thanks much!

Another quick question - any ideas on how this amp compares with the NELSON pass DIY class a project?

Hi earwaxed - SMPS are not be suitable for use with this class-A amp design.

Cheers
